Assertiveness is an attitude and a way of relating to the outside world, backed up by a set of skills for effective communication. To be truly assertive, you need to see yourself as being of worth and as having a right to enjoy life. At the same time, you value others equally, respecting their right to an opinion and to enjoy themselves.
This course is designed to give participants an understanding of situations and circumstances which could lead to a range of non assertive behaviours. The training looks at how not to be overly accommodating and how to set clearer boundaries for others.
The idea is to feel better about saying 'no' without having to change who you are.
This is a practical assertiveness training course, which will leave the participants feeling more confident in their ability to handle others, and feeling better about themselves.
This course is suitable for anyone and everyone, particularly those working within mental health, social care, adolescent, education or mainstream services.
