Personalisation is about thinking about public services and social care in an entirely different way - starting with the person rather than the service
This course is underpinned by the belief and growing body of evidence that Personalisation is a more beneficial way of operating the social care for people who depend on it but equally effective when investing reducing budgets and scarce resources.
The Prime Minister's strategy unit report Building on Progress: Public Services (2007) described it as "the process by which services are tailored to the needs and preferences of citizens. The overall vision is that the state should empower citizens to shape their own lives and the services they receive."
This course encourages delegates to adjust their perceptions of those people who need care and support - to regard them not just as clients or service users but as people who have basic rights to expect the same as everyone else.
Throughout the course, we focus on independent living, participation, control, choice and empowerment which are considered key concepts for personalisation.
The training is designed to be interactive, thought provoking and engaging.
This course is suitable for people working within mental health, learning disabilities, substance use social care, adolescent, education, children & family or mainstream services that come into direct contact with this client group.
